The Terms For Using UnType

This is the deal when you buy UnType. I've kept it short and in plain English.

Who You're Dealing With

UnType is made and sold by Rudraksh (Rudy) Goel, a sole trader in Brisbane, Queensland. Email support@rudygoel.com about anything here.

UnType Is In Early Access

You're getting UnType before its full release. It works, and I use it every day, but you may hit bugs. Tell me through the Feedback page in the app and I'll fix them.

The early access app isn't signed by Apple yet. The first time you open it, your Mac asks you to confirm in System Settings. The steps are on your welcome page after you buy. Once Apple signs it, updates won't ask again.

Plans, Trials And Charges

• Monthly is A$12 a month and Yearly is A$99 a year in Australia. Both start with 3 days free. Your card is charged on day 4, then on the same date each month or year until you cancel.
• Lifetime is A$199 in Australia, paid once. It has no trial, and it includes every update. Sometimes I offer Lifetime for less through a private link. The price at checkout is the one you pay.
• Outside Australia, you see and pay the price in your own currency: US dollars, pounds, euros, Canadian dollars, New Zealand dollars or rupees, and US dollars anywhere else. The price on the checkout page is the one you pay. Stripe handles the payment, and I never see your full card number.
• If I change the price of your plan, I'll email you at least 30 days before your next charge. You can cancel before it applies.

Referrals

• If you're on Monthly or Yearly, your account page has a referral link to share.
• Someone who starts Monthly or Yearly through your link gets their first 30 days free instead of 3. Lifetime isn't part of it.
• When they make their first payment, you get credit worth one month of your plan, taken off your next bill. You can earn up to 12 months this way.
• Referring yourself doesn't count. I can remove credit that comes from misusing the link.

Cancelling

Log in to your account and press Manage Billing. Cancel there any time, and you won't be charged again. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing. Cancel later and UnType keeps working until the end of the time you've paid for.

Refunds

Email me within 14 days of your first payment and I'll refund all of it, no questions asked. The refund ends your plan straight away. After 14 days, payments aren't refunded, except where the law says they must be.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If UnType has a major failure, you can ask for a refund at any time.

Your Licence

• Your licence key works on up to 3 Macs that you use. Email me to move it to a new Mac.
• Each plan includes up to 300 AI cleanups a day. After that, your words still come through, just as they were heard.
• Please don't share your key, resell UnType, or try to get around the licence check or the daily limit. If you do, I can switch your key off.

What UnType Does With Your Words

Speech turns into text on your Mac. Some text is sent to Anthropic to be tidied, and you can turn that off in Settings. The privacy page has all of it.

Using It Sensibly

UnType types what it hears into whatever app you're in. Check important writing before you send it, the same as you would with anything you type. Don't use it to break the law or to harm anyone.

If Something Goes Wrong

I'll fix problems as fast as I can, but I can't promise UnType will never have an outage or a bug. To the extent the law allows, I'm not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data. Where the law allows me to limit what I owe you, it's limited to resupplying UnType or refunding what you paid in the last 12 months.

Changes And Ending Things

I may update these terms. If a change matters, I'll email you before it applies. If I ever stop selling UnType, I'll email you at least 30 days before and refund any unused time on a monthly or yearly plan.

These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia.
